Wheeler's Yard @ Lorong Ampas

Growing up near Balestier area and I can't believe I have overlooked this place >.<

Among the industrial and newly built condos -Wheeler's Yard.

Hardly you can find a place, large and vintage look in Singapore, for a moment there I really thought I left Singapore. Always had the impression that this kind of building only exists in the European countries...

You will be buzzed once the food is prepared

interested in getting a 'vintage" bike, once I was there, the feel just brought me back to the 80s whereby the most common mode of travelling is by bicycle...

As the name of the place perceive, their furnitures are what can be often found in your yard...

A different concept... which give me the feel like I am sitting at my backyard enjoying my dinner under the clear blue sky...

Now for the food....

Smoked Salmon & Scrambled Eggs
~ the look of the dish makes my tummy growl~ before I head down read about the reviews on some other blogs and I wanted to try it... so putting a mouthful of the scrambled eggs into my mouth makes my eye twinkle .... as the eggs are not dry like most breakfast set served elsewhere... some time it's quite challenging to get the scrambled eggs to be cooked just nicely. Not those overly done and definitely not underdone.  Here, the eggs are done appropriately... accompanying it with the smoked salmon~ not too saltish and the garden salad... 'perfecto'

Gave me a pretty home prepared breakfast set, look pretty normal. 

Hum Bao Bao! 
the name of the dish caught my attention, so 'Old School', now we call it Hamburger,
to my granny generation we just need to say HUM BAO BAO! 
It is served with double beef patties, bacon, toasted buns, lettuce, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and caramelized onions. This dish is flavorful, you can taste the sweetness from the caramelized onions, saltishness from the bacon and mozzarella cheese. 

Beef Yard Burger 
It is simply served,  the only different this burger and the hum bao bao is that;
Beef Yard Burger - consist of a single patty of beef...

I feel that it is quite pricey, and I will only be back for the ambience and this place is suitable for group gatherings, girls night-out, guys night-out
